Off the hook. What does it mean?

Today, the blog got the highest number of visitors in three months, which is great, and I thank you.

Here’s one of my personal heroes, Bill Maher, explaining how just because there are two sides to the political struggle, that doesn’t mean meeting in the middle is a good thing. In fact, since one of the sides is batshit crazy, giving in to them is a sacrifice of our own credibility. And that’s what Obama is doing, and that’s what Jon Stewart (another hero) has done, in effect.
